Keenly aware of the limited opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to find purpose and belonging after aging out of the school system, Posy founder Lucie Wade decided to take action. Harnessing the power of cut flowers and agricultural therapy, she piloted a green care farm on her family’s tiny vegetable patch. Working alongside her brother Harris—who has Fragile X Syndrome—she quickly saw the profound impact this farm-based approach could have.

Today, Posy Flower Farm and our care-farming day program, Fleurish, have found a new home at Grand Potager in the Verdun Municipal Greenhouses. We are Montréal’s first urban cut-flower and green care farm, dedicated to fostering community among people with and without intellectual disabilities—one gorgeous, locally grown, pesticide-free bloom at a time.
