Lucie Wade, msc
Lucie is a practiced clinical ethicist, with over a decade of experience leading clinical and organizational ethics programs in two of Quebec’s leading academic healthcare institutions—McGill University Health Centre and the CIUSSS de Centre Ouest de l'Île de Montréal (home of the Jewish General Hospital). Lucie holds a wealth of knowledge to address complex ethical issues in patient care, particularly in the fields of intensive care, consent & capacity, neuroethics, and disability studies. Recognized for her expertise, Lucie has consulted on hundreds of clinical cases and shared her knowledge academically, teaching the Bioethics Practicum course for McGill University’s graduate level specialization in bioethics, publishing numerous papers and book chapters, and participating as an invited speaker at local, national and international conferences.
Supporting this academic expertise, Lucie holds a certificate in Integrative Thanatology (The Art of Dying) from One Spirit Learning Alliance and has completed two doula trainings, spanning care from beginning to end of life.
Since immersing herself in the world of green care farming, she has completed two small scale, biointensive, flower farming courses: Floramama’s course at The Market Gardener & Floret Farm’s Flower Workshop.
Lucie is also co-founder, with her husband (the vet), of a local veterinary clinic in Pointe St Charles, Montreal, where they are honoured to be part of the fabric of their tight knit community.
