Welcome to The garden
Keenly aware of the limited opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to find purpose and belonging after aging out of the school system, Posy founder Lucie Wade decided to take action. Harnessing the joy of flowers, she piloted an urban flower farm that uses a social agriculture framework to guide its operations. Working alongside her brother Harris—who has Fragile X Syndrome—she quickly saw the profound impact this approach could have.
Today, Posy Flower Farm and our social agriculture day program, Fleurish, have found a new home at Grand Potager in the Verdun Municipal Greenhouses.
We are Montréal’s first urban cut-flower farm dedicated to providing meaningful employment opportunities for working-age adults with intellectual disabilities. Here we reduce social isolation and foster community connection among people with and without intellectual disabilities—one gorgeous, locally grown, pesticide-free bloom at a time.
