CSA Bouquet Subscriptions
cultivate beauty: in your life, for our planet, and in our community.
Bouquet subscriptions are the flower farmer’s version of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) basket. Each bouquet you receive will be hand-crafted, using the flowers that are ready for harvest that week. Every stem will be grown right here in Verdun and lovingly tended by our volunteers & co-farmers from our Fleurish day program. Each purchase supports our green care farm and subsidizes the cost of the unique program model. With your support, this summer we will be able to welcome our first paid employee: an adult with an intellectual disability and/or neurodiversity who has been seeking meaningful, paid, work in a supportive community.
Our flowers are grown from non-gmo seeds purchased from small, independent, growers. Bulbs and corms are sourced from Canadian suppliers, with an emphasis on supporting small farms where possible. Pesticide free, biointensive farming methods are standard practice on our farm.
spring
Nothing is better after a long winter than the first scents of Spring blooms. Our bi-weekly bouquet subscription delivers joy and colour you can count on during those unpredictable Montreal Spring days. Your bouquets will feature tulips, daffodils, ranunculus, anemones, Iceland poppies, stock and sweet peas as they come into bloom. Highlighted by our favorite hardy annuals like forget-me-nots, bells of Ireland and cerinthe. Many of these blooms are already growing in our heated greenhouse, waiting to make their way to you.
summer
With the heat of July comes a rush of colour and bloom from our annual field plot. Your bouquets will feature snapdragons, foxglove, delphinium, cosmos, zinnias, and dahlias as they come into bloom. Highlighted with orlaya, celosia, amaranth, nigella and more of our favorite heat-loving stems.
Autumn
The cool autumn breeze brings shorter days but the garden doesn’t stop! Sunflowers, heirloom chrysanthemums, eucalyptus, marigold and more dahlias will step into the lime-light and dazzle us with a breathtaking performance. With our new heated greenhouse we may also see a second flush of sweet peas to ease us into the cooler days.
I can’t think of a better accessory to sweater-weather.
What is a CSA basket?
A Community Supported Agriculture basket is a partnership with a local farm. By subscriping to our CSA bouquet subscription you are choosing to “partner” with Posy. You are directly supporting our sustainable, pesticide and chemical-free, eco-responsible flower farming practices through an upfront investment in our floral harvest for the season.
In addition to providing an upfront investment to support our agricultural harvest, by partnering with Posy, you also support our social mission to:
build community amongst people with and without intellectual disabilities
support skill and vocational training
offer much needed respite to caregivers, and
provide paid employment to adults with intellectual disabilities.
